Eisenmann has long been the acme of superior performance exhaust systems. For the first time the exhaust specialist has transformed an entire vehicle. The highest standards, which are hallmarks of Eisenmann, also apply to the carbon aerodynamic package, the alloy wheels, the chassis, and of course the exhaust system. This converts the Audi R8 into the Spark Eight by Eisenmann.


Not only does the aerodynamic package contribute to its ultimate visual effect, it also improves the functionality of the super sports car from Ingolstadt. The components significantly improve the driving dynamics and the load distribution between front and rear axle. It goes without saying that exhaust systems are the domain of Eisenmann. The Spark Eight by Eisenmann is fitted with a performance stainless steal system, with a gigantic tailpipe exit in the center of the rear spoiler (4600 Euro). This warrants a one-of-a-kind visual effect. Thanks to the flap control system, sound and optimal performance can be controlled with the push of a button. As an alternative Eisenmann offers an exhaust system with four stainless steel tailpipes (3800 Euro) that can be combined with the standard rear spoiler. The retro-classic intake funnel (1200 Euro) and the two oval tailpipes (1000 Euro) provide the look of the R10.

Eisenmann also ensures that the improved chassis matches the upgrade of visual effect and sound. The new shock absorbers with four performance springs (3850 Euro) increase the driving dynamic for even more agile handling characteristics. The 235/35 (front) and 315/30 (rear) tyres mounted on 8.5×19 inch alloy wheels ensure a solid grip (complete set available for 7300 Euro).

Audi Q7 2011

Q7 family. The Q7 3.0 TDI offers 150 kW (204 hp) while consuming an average of just 7.2 liters of diesel per 100 km (32.67 miles per U.S.gallon) – better than all direct competitors. At the same time, a 3.0 liter V6 drives this large SUV powerfully and smoothly. An eight-speed tiptronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive round out the luxurious drivetrain.

The new V6 TDI in the Q7 is a high-tech engine. It weighs far less than 200 kilograms (440.92 lb) and extensive measures minimize internal friction. Innovative thermal management – a new feature of many Audi engines – is particularly complex in the 3.0 TDI. The crankcase and the cylinder heads have separate cooling water circuits; coolant is not circulated within the block while the engine is warming up.

The EU 5 classification for this new entry model in the Q7 family will come as no surprise, just like its high fuel efficiency. On average, it needs 7.2 liters per 100 km (32.67 miles per U.S. gallon). And its CO2 equivalent is just 189 grams per km (304.17 grams per mile) – no other large SUV from a European brand boasts such a low value. The efficient TDI delivers 150 kW (204 hp). Its maximum torque becomes available just above the idling point: 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) remain constant between 1,250 and 2,750 rpm.

This large SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 9.1 seconds. In the version with an optional air suspension, it reaches a top speed of 205 km/h (127.38 mph); with steel suspension, 202 km/h (125.52 mph).

The Q7 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) offers the same power transmission as all other models in this line. The new and efficient eight-speed tiptronic – with its high overall gear ratio – delivers torque to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive, which has a sporty rear-end bias. Double wishbones made of aluminum guide all four wheels; the chassis delivers great agility and stability. An off-road mode and a hill-descent assistant aid off-road driving.

With a wheelbase measuring 3.00 meters (9.84 feet) and an overall length of 5.09 meters (16.70 feet), the interior offers plenty of room. Audi offers the Q7 with five, six or seven seats. The luggage compartment offers as much as 2,035 liters of capacity (71.87 cubic ft). This new entry model’s standard equipment package includes two-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning, a high-beam assistant, and an MMI radio multimedia interface.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06x Track Car Concept 2011

Chevrolet is unveiling the Corvette Z06x Track Car Concept at this year SEMA motor show. The Z06X track car concept, to be created by Chevrolet teamed with Pratt and Miller, will showcase Chevrolet’s expanding portfolio of performance parts to create a full-on track car.

The Z06X concept is based on the Corvette Z06 with the 1LZ equipment package, along with the Z07 Performance Package and CFZ Carbon Fiber Package. The 2011 Z06 with the Z07 package includes carbon ceramic brakes and Magnetic Ride Control, while the CFZ package offers body components that enhance aerodynamic down force on the race track, including a front splitter.

The concept vehicle wears a low-gloss Icy White Metallic exterior color, accented with exposed carbon fiber body components and red trim. The interior features a racing seat, window net and roll cage-mounted camera system. It includes a racing pedal kit, a Genuine Corvette Accessory.

Performance of the Z06x Track Car Concept is guaranteed by LS7 7.0L V-8 engine and Tremec six-speed manual transmission, with low-restriction air intake system and high-capacity radiator and enhanced cooling system. Featuring all-aluminium construction for weight-saving, the 1.6L DOHC Gamma delivers 90.4kW @ 6300 rpm and 155Nm of peak torque @ 4200 rpm through a smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission.

For cost-conscious car buyers, the base Hyundai Verna is offered with the 1.4L DOHC edition of the Gamma which puts out 78.7kW @ 6300 rpm and 135.4Nm @ 5000 rpm and comes with the choice of a five-speed manual gearbox or four-speed automatic. Fuel economy is rated 5.7l/100km with the manual; 6.2l/100km with the automatic (1.4L with Fuel Economy Package).

If there is one automaker that has been keeping busy in order to revamp its whole lineup, it has to be Hyundai. After the Genesis, Genesis Coupe, Sonata and the new Accent – Hyundai today unveiled the new Elantra at the 2010 Busan Motor Show in Korea.

“The new Avante encompasses Hyundai’s latest ambitions, featuring the best styling and performance in its class,” Steve S. Yang, President & CEO of Hyundai’s Global Business Division, said at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) today. “We’re confident that it will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide.”

Besides a sleek new look (courtesy of Audi’s ex head of design), the new 2011 Elantra will get Hyundai’s new 1.6L Gamma GDI engine that makes 160-hp and features fuel-saving technologies like Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing and Variable Induction System. The engine will be mated to a new 6-speed automatic.

Our opinion? It seems Hyundai may finally have a winner to compete strong against the Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, Ford Focus, Chevrolet Cruze and Toyota Corolla.

Hyundai will offer the 2011 Sonata in three trim levels, each offering a handful of optional equipment packages. For $750, the GLS automatic can be optioned with the Popular Equipment Package, which adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a power driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar, upgraded interior trim and automatic head lamps. Another $950 adds a navigation system and premium audio upgrade.

The GLS gives way to the SE, which adds a middling two horsepower but also 18-inch alloy wheels, unique dark chrome exterior touches, fog lights, dual exhaust, a sport-tuned suspension and steering combination, proximity entry with push-button start and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. The SE comes only with the automatic and starts at $22,595. An extra $2,600 adds a moonroof, navigation and premium audio.

From there, the Limited adds leather seats, dual zone automatic climate control, automatic-dimming mirror with compass, CD changer, HD radio, upgraded audio, 17-inch alloy wheels, moonroof, exterior mirror-mounted turn signals, upgraded interior trim and rear seat vents. The Limited comes with the standard 198-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder and starts at $25,295. Another $2,100 adds a package that includes navigation, a rear backup camera and Infinity-branded speakers.

Styled at Hyundai’s Irvine, California, studio, the Sonata is a fresh design that takes some cues from the Subaru Legacy and Volkswagen cc.

Slightly larger than the existing Sonata, the new car feels substantially roomier inside. Special attention has been paid to materials and design, which is substantially more upmarket than before.

Underhood, the Theta II gasoline direct-injection 2.4-liter four puts out 198 horsepower (bumped up to an even 200 ponies on the sportier SE trim level) and 184 lb-ft. of torque yet delivers an estimated class-leading 35 mpg on the highway with the optional six-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual is standard on the base GLS). Regardless of transmission, the Sonata is expected to be rated at 23 mpg in the city, but the manual will be rated at 34 mpg on the highway.

The 16-valve four-cylinder features continuously variable valve timing and variable induction and Hyundai says that some markets will get a PZEV variant. Unlike the outgoing model, Hyundai says it does not plan to offer a six-cylinder powertrain. The Sonata is the only volume player in the midsize family sedan market to offer just one powertrain, although a hybrid is said to be on the way.

Hyundai is especially proud of the trio of audio systems tailored to the 2011 Sonata. GLS and SE models get an AM/FM/CD player with six speakers and XM capability, but they will offer a Dimension-branded premium system with a touch-screen navigation. Limiteds come standard with the Dimension audio system and a CD changer but offer a 400-watt Infinity audio system.

Like the Sonata, the Tucson is powered exclusively by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder Theta engine that cranks out 176 horsepower — more than the outgoing model’s optional V6. Hyundai expects fuel economy to top out at an impressive 31 mpg on the highway (23 around town) with the optional six-speed automatic (six-speed manual standard) and the base front-wheel-drive setup. Expect a hit for all-wheel-drive models — Hyundai estimates 21 mpg around town and 28 mpg on the highway.

The outgoing model features three trim levels and two engines, and the latest model features two trim levels and a single engine for launch. The now standard model is labeled as the GLS, and the range-topping model remains the Limited.

The latest Tucson is now complemented with more agile handling, responsive steering and improved body roll control. Enhancements such as the MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension systems provide more precise wheel control and a smoother ride and make the new Tucson more fun-to-drive. To further aid in improved handling manners, stabilizer bar diameters have also increased with the front suspension growing to a 25 mm hollow stabilizer bar, yet saving weight versus the predecessors 21 mm solid stabilizer bar. The rear suspension has a new 18 mm solid stabilizer bar versus the predecessors 14 mm stabilizer bar. These larger stabilizer bars help to keep the vehicle flat during cornering and help provide quicker turn-in response.

The newest Tucson is actually longer than its predecessor by about 3.3 inches, but weighs in at 3,203 lbs — 61 lbs less than the outgoing model. This extra length helps inside, as the Tucson grows significantly in terms of both design and space. An optional panorama moonroof, Bluetooth and a CleanAir ionizer for the climate control system up the luxury ante.

Although not immediately available at launch, Hyundai will offer a Tucson Blue with an efficiency-oriented 2.0-liter base engine with dual variable valve timing that will achieve better fuel economy and power than the outgoing four-cylinder base engine. The Ferrari California has had its power boosted and its performance systems improved again by tuner Novitec Rosso. A previous programme took the car up to 368kW (500mhp). From the factory the 2+2-seater’s 8-cylinder motor develops 338 kW (453 bhp / 460 PS) and 485 Nm (358 lb-ft).
Technical highlights include the use of a mechanical supercharger, a custom intake manifold and larger injectors as well as a water-to-air intercooler. A Novitec Rosso stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with sport catalysts was installed and the ECU remapped.
The baby Ferrari now boasts 446 kW (598 bhp / 606 PS) developed at 7,900 rpm. Maximum torque goes up to 603 Nm (445 lb-ft) at 5,500rpm. The 0 – 100 km/h sprint takes just under 3.8 seconds and top speed is 325 km/h (202 mph).
Some of the suspension work includes sport springs that can be lowered by 35 millimeters and a hydraulic lift system that can raise the front of the car by 40 millimeters for better navigation of everyday obstacles like speed bumps.
Aerodynamic and styling changes include new rocker panels with integrated airfoils and black side markers, a rear diffuser, rear spoiler lip and carbon fibre rear molding. Wheels are 9Jx21 size in front and 11.5Jx22 at the rear, shod with 255/30 ZR 21 and 315/25 ZR 22 Pirelli tyres respectively.

2012 VW Officially Announces R GmbH

Volkswagen has officially launched the new R GmbH performance subsidiary.
Meant to meet the “increased global demand for individualized vehicles with contemporary sportiness and exclusivity”, the subsidiary will handle sales and development of high performance and Exclusive (aka Individual) models. In essence, R GmbH is Volkswagen’s answer to BMW’s M and Mercedes’ AMG divisions.
Described as the “specialist for sporty exclusive models from Volkswagen in the future,” R GmbH has already taken responsibility for the Scirocco R, the Golf R, the R-Line design packages, and the aforementioned Exclusive range.
Based in Warmenau, Germany (near VW’s Wolfsburg headquarters) R GmbH employs a staff of more than 350 people. In the future, the subsidiary promises to intensely the sportiness of Volkswagen R models.
