2009 Toyota FT-86 sports car Concept Design
Name FT-86, a car that will not last name, harks back to the very popular AE-86 Corolla rear-drive coupe in the 80’s, a famous car where Drift King – Japanese racing legend Keiichi Tsuchiya – - started his career, while FT stands for “Future Toyota. “And you do not need to be a rocket scientist to see the FT-86 the potential to trigger a new generation of Drifters.
The concept is set to make world debut at the Tokyo auto show the company in 2009 with a set of MR-2 and Celica, Supra, Toyota FT-86. It’s got eye-catching looks, rear-wheel-drive, a horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission, a 2 +2 layout. And the production version is due at the end of 2011.
